[nylug-talk] Netscape 4.XX & java

I use a fairly generic window manager (flwm) and Netscape still crashes
in two conditions.

Netscape works fine except for 2 circumstances:

1.  Java will sometimes work and will eventually end up hanging
    netscape until killed via -9.   Has been the case for many
    many versions... not likely to be fixed given the level of
    Java enthusiasm.

    This seems to happen with applets, not javascript.  Sometimes
    the hang happens right as it is "Loading Java..."

2.  Using the right click on a graphic to grab the link using
    "Copy link location" and then paste to another window will
    result in a core dump.   Has also been broken for a while...

Otherwise the netscape is very stable on RH 6.1 (2.2.15p7).

3.  Sites that use PHP: Netscape seems to take a lot of time
    processing the page.  It will eventually appear.

The netscape I'm using, Communicator 4.72 (128-bit) does not
have any plugins other than Adobe acroread/acrobat.   Makes
for convienient reading of pdf files on-line.
